Ben is buying this house. Yes, it needs a new roof. Yes, the porch needs to be painted a different color other than blue. Yes the deck needs repair. Yes, it needs a whole new bath and some plumbing. Yes it needs new floor covering in all but 2 rooms. YES, YES, YES! BUT... the house itself is nice and the lot is large with a view of the river. There is also a large pole building on the property which needs siding but is on a cement slab and has a newish roof. This could be good, very good. Two bedrooms, large-ish living room, nice sized kitchen and a basement. It has city water as well. AND he got the whole thing for the cost of the pole building! What more could Ben need? (besides more money and more furniture) He will close on it October 31st. Then the fun (?) begins! We shall all be recruited to help and will do so mostly gladly! After the roof is on, the plumbing is done, the water and electricity is re-connected, and a bath is installed, Ben can move in! It will be very different here without him but he will be here a lot I think, especially at first when those things have not been completed yet.

How exciting! The house, while it appears to need loads of work, also looks like it has good potential -- an interesting looking place! With an outbuilding and a river view, well, it really may be a young bachelor's dream! Congratulations and good luck! -- U. Jim
