I'm not really working on a chain gang, it just feels that way. At Ben's house the chimney was found to be rotten so it was knocked down by the roofers. Friday afternoon, Ben knocked it apart whilst Dennis and I hauled the lot to the large skip that is there to gather the old roof bits and other debris in. We worked until dark (which is admittedly fairly early now days.) Before that, Dennis and I scooped and hauled ashes and assorted debris from a pile behind the place and picked up rubbish and assorted junk from the yard. I have now discovered I have more muscles than I realized. I can feel them! It's actually rather good to be at Library today just for the rest!
Friday morning Dennis and I had taken the Honda in for it's first oil change and check of the brake sensors (because of an almost unheard of recall.) The car was fine. They even washed it! We then went to a couple of home stores looking for the multitude of stuff needed for Ben's house. We ate at a little dive diner called "Nick's" where we had eaten once before. They have Greek cuisine and the spinach pie and pilaf are brilliant!
So, there is our day, in somewhat backward order.
Today's interesting fact: Hauling chimney bits to the skip is conducive to deep sleep! ~Sue
