Gremlins?

It is my belief that Gremlins have arrived at Library. We have had at least a dozen DVDs show up as not discharged out of peoples accounts after having scanned them "in." Very strange, that. I pulled them all off of the shelves and re-scanned them to be very sure. I found 6 non-discharged. The weirdest case was last night a patron came to the circulation desk to check out some DVDs and computer showed she had a DVD overdue. She said she had put it in our overnight drop box that morning. Today the DVD was no longer in her account but somebody elses! Two of us had checked on this last night. Very weird. I hardly knew how to explain it to the patron. Thankfully, when I called their home the answering machine took my message and I simply said it had turned up and all fees had been waived. Strangeness.....

For the first time in 4 days I can taste food! The "buds" are not quite up to full operation yet but getting there and that's a positive thing. Eating can be such pleasure, but not when ice cream and brussel sprouts taste the same.
