Rambling stuff and jibber....

Here's a photo of our house as it looks today. Andy wanted some photos to show to his Japanese parents.

See all the dead leaves? All of our neighborhood basswood trees have an insect that has killed about half of the leaves on each tree. Weird. The first year we lived here we didn't have them.

Yesterday it was finally cool outside, and because we are in drought, there were NO mosquitoes! I worked outside cutting the dead flowers off the hostas and pulling some weeds. I've had to fill the birdbath about every two days! The honey bees are drinking all the water! (actually there is a chance the birds, squirrels, and evaporation are also using it up.) The honey bees swarm all over the birdbath and don't try to sting me when I put new water in it.

Yesterday I also cooked bacon on the patio so the smell wouldn't linger in the house. Clever. eh? We ate on the patio also.

Today I spent the day with Mom. Her 82nd birthday is this Sunday but she has plans to be at the county fair all afternoon. I took her some chocolate cake and we went to the furniture store to pick out a new recliner for her living room. The one we chose is brown. They delivered it this after noon. It looks really nice in her house and is very comfortable as well.

We have heard from Andy and it seems he is doing well in Japan.

We also had a wonderful phone call from Rachel last night and she is doing well too. Nathan got gold stars at his job and will be getting a pay raise because of being so cute. (or something like that) They have been making tomato sauce/juice. Yum.

Ben was here Wednesday night for dinner. It was his 26th birthday. We had steak, couscous, salad, and chocolate cake that Dennis baked.

Dennis has been installing new lights on the front of his car. He and Ben are going to a car show on Sunday in Dublin, Ohio.

Sorry for the rambling entry. Just a lot of little stuff going on. Keeps me busy. I'm hoping to start working on the house some more. It sort of got away from me whilst we were working at Ben's.

What sort of work do you want to do to the house?

It's sad the bugs killed the basswood leaves, but it makes it look like fall! Yaaay!

Nathan's employers just couldn't resist his charm and good looks any longer... mwahahaha...

Most of Thursday was nice and cool, but afterschool the sun came out and it got down right hot! Ryan had a FB game, and I put my jeans on and grabbed a sweatshirt, and darn near melted. Ryan NEVER came out of the game. He had to of lost 5 lbs in sweat! eeeewh! We took him out to eat after the game...for some wierd reason they sat us in the back corner.... :)
