I wanted a new scarf. A scarf for Winter. An extra wide, extra long, soft Winter scarf. I'd been inspired to wanting one whilst watching an old Sherlock Holmes film, staring Jeremy Brett, called, "The Sign of Four." In the film, the sheriff was wearing a mustard yellow, bulky, long knitted scarf. I blurted out, "I want a scarf like that!" The scarf is being knit, in my own home, by me! It must be said, I haven't knitted anything for many years. My scarf won't be quite like the one in the film. They probably either purchased it or had it made especially. Mine, however, will be hand made, using antique wooden needles, and the unwanted assistance of our two cats. My only fear is it may smell of cat food when finished. Thankfully, it's washable!
Here is the beginning of the scarf:
I will post updated photos as it progresses. Hopefully it will be finished before next Spring!

Well that's pretty cool!
So what are you doing with all that red and black yarn?
The red and black yarn is supposed to be an afghan. I bought the yarn at least 2 years ago I think. Perhaps eventually.....
Cool! One of these days (years?) I will learn to knit or crochet.
