A day off

I had today off for Presidents' Day. I'm not a President of anything I know of, but I'm off work anyway. I'll bet Mr. Obama doesn't even get today off. Hurrah for me! I spent vast amounts of time today doing nothing! Read blogs, etc. I did bake a frozen Marie Callendar's pie. I was thinking of trying to pass it off as homemade but the crust is too perfect for that and it's in a tin instead of a pie pan. It will be good and appreciated at any rate. I also did the recycling and took out the rubbish.

I got a call from Ben just after lunch. He was home! He is sick. Now you must remember, Ben NEVER gets sick enough to stay home and almost never calls off work. He has the 24 hour gastro-intestinal virus that makes you feel REALLY bad for a couple of days. I went to the grocery store and got some stuff for him and ran it over to his place. He was already feeling somewhat better, even a bit hungry. He's hoping to go to work tomorrow. I got a look at his cat "Chessie." She's a real beauty. She is big, healthy looking, not shy, and has beautiful, nearly brown eyes. Ben thinks she may be a terrorist.

I'm going to finish my day watching a couple of TV shows. One I recorded two weeks ago and a broadcast show tonight. I had a big week last week and so today was mine. Nice.
