Bolstering the Economy

Well, I had a very nice time shopping today. I went to Meijer, Aldi, GoodWill, a pet store, and Kroger. Even though the city I was in is suffering high unemployment, all the places I went were very busy, crowded even! I was a bit surprised actually. It made me feel good to see so many people out shopping and buying. But… and isn’t there ALWAYS a but, people were so RUDE today! I don’t know if they are worried about spending or just in a hurry but every place I went there was massive rudeness. Especially at the Kroger Supermarket. Wow. Shoppers were practically running into each other to get at what they wanted. While I was in line to check out, the oldish couple behind me were especially rude. The man openly stared at my purchases and at me while his wife kept sort of shoving her shopping cart up against me! It made me quite grumpy. I acted as if I wasn’t bothered but it made me want to shove the cart back into her and tell them both off! People have gone mental. Is it the economy or just the way of the World? Thoughts?

I stopped at the pet store to get food for our newts. Didn’t know we had newts did ya? We have two of them.

On the way home I treated myself to a Taco Bell Frutista Freeze. Mango/Strawberry frozen goodness. I drove home with the moon roof open and the stereo blazing. It blew away the grouchiness I was feeling. I open the house’s windows when I got inside and have the radio on. The sun is shining as well. I hope the crabby shoppers are feeling better now. I am.

Do you use re-usable shopping bags like the ones pictured? I really love mine. I bought 2 more at Kroger today because I often need more and they were 99 cents for two! I got two.

When I start grocery shopping again I'll get some of those bags.
