Sunday afternoon project

This is the sidewalk behind our home that goes from the patio and garage side door around to the parking area in front of the garage. Previously there were no low-voltage lights along that walk. In the woods it is very dark at night, especially with the leaves on the trees. Dennis installed these lights for me. They look nice, c'nest pas? I put the bricks along the other side of the walk because the lava rocks kept finding their way onto the sidewalk. Combine darkness and stray lava rocks and that can equal a nasty spill. I’m quite pleased with the results.

Did you do any DIY home projects over the weekend?

They are actual lights. Solar doesn't work here in the deep woods. lol. Yes they are easy to install.

I still need more mulch and more bedding flowers. The weather here has been absolutely delightful and cool. Just the way I like it.

I always did like those little patio lights. They're not as energy efficient as solar. If solar doesn't work in a particular location they do have a somewhat redeeming value: in the winter, when the snow falls, the slight heat from the bulbs melts the snow from off the covers and maintains lighting on your path. The low-voltage wiring ours had was easy to install and remove (they didn't work out in our location). -- JG
