Kitchen Remodel

If you're reading this there's a better than fair chance that you know that I've been talking about remodeling our kitchen & building new cabinets since we moved into our current house. I'm finally making some progress toward making this happen. Mind you, this is a BIG project and we still have a VERY long way to go but we have taken a couple of important steps.

Step 1 - Planning. Su & I have invested a lot of time and effort into designing a more efficient kitchen layout. Here's a example of the new design.


Step 2 - Prepare materials. You may remember that we had a big white oak tree taken down a and sawed into lumber couple of years ago. The wood needed to dry before it could be used so I wasn't able to start milling it until this spring. It took far longer than expected but I now have the whole stack planed to the proper thickness.


Many, many more steps to go but now it feels like we're making progress!
