What we did on our Autumn vacation

whatididemail

Monday:

Went to Mom's and did some outdoor stuff for her. Did some basic stuff around our home. Finally went through my clothes and put stuff in bags to give to charity shop. Watched 3 hours of TV in evening! (House, Lie to Me, and Castle)

Tuesday:

Took Mom to doctor and pharmacy. Ate lunch with her and then came home. Don't really remember doing much else. Watched Sherlock Holmes and The Avengers with Dennis.

Wednesday:

Spent the day in the city with Dennis! Went to the Maumee Antique Mall and bought, among other things, a really awesome mid-century chair. You may view it here. We had a lovely late lunch at The Olive Garden, which is one of our faves. We went to a The Anderson’s and bought various olives, bread, apples, goat cheese, and wine and had a delicious late supper. Wonderful day.

Thursday:

Worked around the house doing things I'd been putting off. Baked delectable cookies. The recipe is here. Ben stopped in after work and ate several cookies, as did Dennis. Ate leftovers from Olive Garden for dinner and also left over wine. Watched CSI and The Mentalist.

Friday:

Put gas in our old van. Took stuff to charity shop. Did a month's worth of recycling. Stopped at Library. Dennis and I went to The Anderson’s to buy insulation for Ben's house. Ate supper at Steak 'n Shake. Had mini mocha malt. Mmmm...

Saturday:

While Dennis went to Ben’s house to do the insulating, I drove to Menard’s and bought a new vacuum! This is the one. I did NOT pay $100 for it. It was on sale. My old vacuum was a Hoover Wind Tunnel and smelled like our old dog. Ewww! It still works well but is quite old, smelly, and makes my lungs twitch. The new one is also bagless. So far I like it quite a lot. I ate lunch at Burger King and didn't see the Freaky King. I was grateful for that. Later, Dennis and I did some lumberjack type work in the yard and I put away the bird spa and the gnomes have come back inside the house.

Well, that was our vacation. Nothing much exciting but we had time away from work and some stuff got done. It was worth it.

Sounds very productive and fun! Your new chair is definitely "mod." :)

A salami and cheese and crackers dinner sounds reeeally good...

fun chair! it does not look like an outdoor chair at all. i never have any luck at antique stores, so i'm glad to see that you did!
