Doesn't this look good? Today I made biscotti that looks nearly identical to this. The reason I made it is bi fold. (like the door)
1. Biscotti is delicious.
2. People at work want to try my homemade biscotti.
You see, when employees of the library go away on holiday they are strongly encouraged to bring back edibles from the area they visited to share with everybody. I went to Louisville, Kentucky so of course I brought back Italian biscuits! Actually the only things I found from the region were fudge/chocolates which would have melted, or Bourbon which not only would have melted everybody's throats but was too expensive. So, knowing the only REAL requirement was the item be edible, I bought a large box of Biscotti. Well, everybody loved them but I thought they were only so-so. I kept saying my homemade was so much better and was led to believe I NEEDED to make some to bring in. Today I actually made it. It came out extremely well. Rachel would be proud, seeing she was the first person to make the recipe. Thanks for perfecting it Rachel!
Today's interesting fact:
Nonni’s Biscotti grew out of true Italian tradition. In the little town of Lucca, Italy along narrow cobbled lanes surrounded by elegant piazzas, our Nonni (an endearing term for Grandma) made biscotti to share with family and friends. When Nonni came to America, almost a century ago, she brought the family recipe with her.
Thank you Nonni, whoever you are! ~Sue
