And the door slams shut!

Do you know the old saying that if a door closes, a window opens? Well the door has slammed shut on the house that Ben was going to work on. His grandfather and uncles, who own said house had the place inspected. The results are far worse than even feared. The structure itself is sound and safe, but just about everything else is bad plus the fact that there is no guarantee that in the future when one or more of the owners dies that the remaining brothers won't sell the property. There are other reasons as well but poor Ben has thrown in the towel. So, is a window opening? Perhaps. This morning I am scouring the local realtor websites looking for a place Ben can afford to buy. I have found two that might suit him that he most probably could afford to make payments on. The homes would definitely suit him and could be immediately occupied. The properties, perhaps not. He would like something somewhat remote and these are not. More remote properties usually have acreage involved and even though Ben would like that, he can't afford them. There we are then. We will most probably go scout them out and see the "lay of the land" as it were. I'll keep you informed.

In other news.......Tuesday whilst leaving the house to run errands, I fell out of the house into the garage and fell bum first onto the cement floor. Ouch! Every part of my body hurt except my hair. It would have hurt as well but hair is dead or else it would hurt when being cut into a fashionable style, wouldn't it? Well anyway, I am mostly fine but my feet, back, neck, and tail bone still hurt. No bruises surprisingly enough. I am very thankful I didn't break anything! What a klutz!!

Today's interesting fact:

Falls account for about half of all accidental deaths in the home.

Whoa! Glad I didn't become a statistic! Hey, at least I didn't fall the other way and tumble down the stairs into the Troll Cave! I probably would have never been found! ~Sue

Well drat! It was, however, a big house and a huge project so perhaps it is for the best. A smaller place closer to or in town may not be the ideal, but it aint a bad way to start home ownership! There will be plenty to learn, do, and spend and that first home will be a great foundation. Regrets but best wishes to Ben! -- Uncle Jimbo

This may sound crazy, but perhaps, just perhaps, it is your hair that hurts and everything else is fine! Ever think about that? All those sore strands leading straight into your brain probably make you think your body hurts when really it's just the hair! Seriously, your hair will be fine. Glad you didn't get anything else permanently hurt!! -- Jim, who once fell backward on a set of concrete steps and, on the way down, wondered if he was gonna die!
