Today I accidentally discovered that my cat, George Bofur likes yogurt. I made this discovery when I turned my back on my open cup of vanilla yogurt to freshen my coffee and found Bofur licking my yogurt! Hmmm... what to do? I scooped out the bit he had been licking and put it in a little dish on the floor and watched in amusement whilst he licked it up! He looked at me a couple of times as if to say, "Is this OK for me to do?" Bofur is quite unsure of himself. I sat and watched him as I finished my cup of yogurt. (What? You thought I'd throw perfectly good yogurt away? You really don't know me do you?) Bofur thanked my by jumping up on my shoulders and snuggling my face with his, purring loudly.
In other news, my experience with my new dentist yesterday was a positive one. At 8:00 A.M., I arrived at his office after sleeping fairly well, with the aid of the Valium he gave me. They sat me down and immediately slapped a Nitrous Oxide mask on me which, I must say, is very relaxing! The dentist then looked for a vein in my left arm to insert the IV anesthetic into. Finding nothing appropriate, he moved to my hand. Still mostly awake, I told him when used for IVs, the veins in my hand always "blow." I suggested he might want to use my right arm. He inserted the needle into my hand and said, "maybe not." I assumed he meant it didn't blow. About that time I was asleep and don't remember anything until we were nearly home. We stopped at the pharmacy to get me some more drugs and then arrived home. I really don't know what time it was. I remember saying I was going to lay down on the couch and I remember doing so but then I woke up and it was 2:00 P.M. I wandered around the house for awhile but decided I should lay down a bit longer. I got back up at 3:00 and sat in a stupor at the computer, reading blogs and surfing a bit. At about 5:30 I finally got up and made mac 'n cheese and tender leafed salad for dinner and it was pretty good. The salad tasted a bit metallic because the inside of my mouth was all puckery from the 2 1/2 hour procedure. The procedure was prepping 5 teeth for crowns and applying temporary crowns until the permanent ones are custom made. The gums around the 5 teeth are raw but that is to be expected. Now we wait to see if I need any root canals. Two of the teeth were badly broken and "marginal" for root canals. Well, enough of the grim details. To finish the story, after dinner I reached for something and my right arm felt funny. I pulled up my sleeve and found a band aid covering a large bruise where the dentist, had indeed put the IV. I never even knew it until about 7 hours after my appointment! THAT'S the way to go, I tell ya! Drugs all the way. Wish me luck for not needing any root canals. I'm really hoping I won't!

I haz yo-guts... yum! Not too surprising your cat likes the stuff. I guess plain yogurt is supposed to be okay for 'em; cultured products are said to be better tolerated than plain milk. Watch out: Missy liked not only yogurt but also a bit of tofu! We've got to talk about your eating after the cat, however!
Veins and IVs... I've got a similar problem. Many nurses and techs cannot find the vein in my arm for blood tests or IVs. The hand gets it for those darned IVs and winds up black and blue and sore for days to follow.
Drugs are good, okay? Sounds like you spent the day in a daze! Better, I'm sure, than enduring all that digging and blasting in the valley of the teeth, eh? I sincerely hope the worst of that is over for you. No root canals! No! No! No! That ought to do it!
No freaking way! I just found out today that MY cat likes yogurt! What are the chances! Seriously!
I did the same thing... I turned my back on banana-strawberry yogurt and found my cat Dinah licking around the edges.
Ah... Coincidences!
FYI this is David of Cranky Yellow!
I'm glad your dental work went well so far. And I hope you don't need any root canals!! ...and I hope I didn't inherit your teeth... ;)
Good luck at your next appointment!!
