Summer is nearly gone

I know that summer is nearly gone because my work schedule is about to change for Autumn.

Here is Library's Summer schedule:

Beginning September 1st, Monday through Thursday, Library is open until 8:30 P.M. with Friday and Saturday still closing at 5:30 P.M.  I work both Monday and Tuesday nights.  Somebody has to.  We all share in the fun, each taking a minimum of 1 night each.

All of this could change because of budget cuts in the State of Ohio.  Our libraries were already cut 20% in revenue and then, in order to balance the State budget, we were cut an additional 11%  It has to come from somewhere so it will come via reduced new material purchases, cut back in hours of operation, cuts in part time employee hours, and possible cuts in employment.

I've never liked working Tuesday nights but I do like my work schedule.

We'll see what happens very soon.  Our governing board meets September 1st.  Not sure how quickly changes will take effect but it is guaranteed to be interesting.
