While the second set of back posts were steaming away on this steamy August afternoon I was cutting mortises in the for the back rest slats in the first set. I considered making a jig to do this with a router but decided that it would be just as quick and easy to do it the traditional way, with a mortise chisel and a mallet.
Ben made the chisel for me a couple of years ago and it worked quite well.
The next step is to bring all the parts down to final dimension.
