The weekend, namely Saturday and Sunday, turned out sorta weird, but good. Saturday, work went well in the subterranean Troll cave/lair. One of the two 55 gallon fish tanks was torn down and taken out to the patio for cleaning. A large table, covered with boxes and miscellaneous flotsum, was mostly uncovered. The hide-a-bed couch, stacked with computer disks, CDs and some books and papers, was completely cleared. A TV table was cleared, folded, and put away. The bar area looks markedly better. The entire basement will need a thorough cleaning, but that should only take one day. There is still hope! The end is in sight! The floor and most surfaces are now mostly visible and unladen! We loaded the van with a bunch of Ben’s stuff to be moved on Sunday.
As you know, there was the promise of steaks on the grill. For lunch I’d grilled bratwurst for the three of us, served with sauerkraut and beer. Very good. I noticed when I turned off the grill, it didn’t make the customary “pop” noise made when the fire goes out. Hmmm… Needless to say, (but I’ll say it anyway) when I went out before supper to light the grill, it was out of gas. Being a Saturday evening, it was also too late to go anywhere to have the tank filled. Ben was disappointed but scarfed down some left overs and went home. I’d thought we would work more after supper, but since Ben left, I went out and mowed the lawn instead. Later that evening, we went through a bunch of VHS tapes we unearthed in the cave and watched “The Last Boy Scout.” Violent but mostly good. (Warning: loads of smoking, language, violence, and flesh.)
Sunday, we did not go to Church. (We are bad.) We slept in a bit and then had a yummy breakfast of fruit, whole wheat pancakes with maple syrup, and, of course, coffee. Ahhh… We read the Sunday newspaper and chatted. At Midday, Ben was coming over to work some more and move the stuff in the van. I scrounged around the kitchen and came up with ingredients to make Lo Mein with beef. We also had fresh asparagus. (on the side) It was quite good and made Ben happy. We loaded up the cleaned fish tank from the patio and all the stuff in the van was moved and unloaded. But then Ben said he needed to mow his lawn and wouldn’t be working on the cave any more that day. It was only 3:00. So… instead, laundry was done, as well as all the ironing. The ironing doesn’t get done until there is a lot of it. Vacuuming and straightening was also done. Weeds around the patio were pulled. Fiddling and pottering took place in the workshop. It had turned into a catch-up, take it easy sort of Sunday, which, really, is the way a Sunday should be, right? LP gas was procured from a local auto supply shop and burgers were grilled for supper. Books were read in the evening. Sunday was not what we expected, but actually better. I’d envisioned us working ALL DAY in the bowels of the cave, but instead had a rather relaxing day, all in all.
Funny how things always right themselves around, isn't?
*Note to Rachel: We are doing the "tag" challenge but are still compiling our lists. We are pathetic.

Hey, take your time! I had some trouble thinking of stuff to write too, and a harder time picking people to tag which is why I tagged both of you!!
I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend :)
