Day 3 of our trip began by packing our things from the cabin and loading the car. We drove into Logan, OH and ate breakfast at The Spotted Owl Cafe.
The food was fairly good. We had Belgian waffles and pancakes with "Sticky Pete's" maple syrup. "Sticky Pete's" is made in Athens, Ohio and won prizes at the Ohio State Fair. I could not find a good link for it though. Coffee was served in oversized mugs, which suited me.
We set off for The Columbus Washboard Company in Logan, Ohio, not Columbus. Huh, funny... They have an awesome web site, so check it out. Here are the photos we took:

Employee demonstrating how each washboard is made by hand. They make about 200 per day.
Washboards for sale. They range from standard to cork-boards, to chalk-boards, to stainless steel, to musical! You can even purchase "one man band" washboards and send washboards to service men and women.

The town has an annual Washboard Music Festival on Father's Day weekend. It has been touted as "Ohio's most unique music festival."
Having seen enough washboards to last a life time, we finally left Logan, Ohio. We headed toward Dayton, Ohio to visit Rachel and Nathan. We stopped in Lancaster, Ohio, which is the birthplace of General Sherman:
Lancaster was a beautiful, historic, bustling city, so we parked along the street and walked downtown to find a place to eat. We wound up at an pizza place called Christy's Pizza. The calzones were huge! It was a very good, local place.
Off we went toward Dayton. We had to pass through Circleville, Ohio, which happened to be having their annual Pumpkin Festival! We could barely get around the city because of traffic and people trying to find places to park. Horrible. Glad we didn't decide to stop for the festival! I only snapped one photo. We just wanted outta there!
We arrived in the Dayton area around 5:00 P.M. and after visiting a bit, the four of us went to eat at Red Lobster, a perennial favorite. We had to wait to be seated but had fun people watching and visiting with each other. We had a variety of good seafood-based meals. We went back to the house, visited some more and then off to bed.
The next day, Saturday, we all drove to the nearby town of Waynesville, Ohio. They are known for their antiques stores and restaurants. We had a fun day browsing the shops and had lunch at The Village Family Restaurant. We had large, excellent, hamburgers and fries. I wanted pie as well, but would have had to put it in my pocket since my stomach was stuffed. While in Waynseville, I kept chanting "Waynesville, Waynesville, party on, excellent, whoo-whoo-whoo" until everybody made me stop. I did pick up a very nice, vintage coffee carafe, which is red, like my coffee maker. We also went to Braden & Sons Sweet Shoppe and bought home made fudge.
It was finally time to head back home. We were sorry our trip was over, but it is always good to be home. "There's no place like home" as Dorothy would say. She was right.
