next step

Since my last post I’ve cut down the front & back posts to finished length, smoothed things up, and applied several coats of finish.  I’ve also spent lots of time trying to decide what material to use for the seats.  In the end we chose striped red cotton tape.

Obviously I still need to weave them but at least I now have the materials in hand.

While pondering my choices for chair seats I made my first batch of  Shaker boxes in several years.

I put a couple of coats of finish on them today and here they are drying.  I do enjoy making these…
